The State of the International Relations and European Studies disciplines in Poland

July 2013 – July 2015, financed by the National Centre of Science.

Description: The aim of the project is to diagnose, through empirical research, the state of International Relations and European Studies disciplines in Poland. IR and ES are sub-disciplines of political science, but they developed an independent identity. An analysis of papers and books published in Poland, as well as PhD theses defended at Polish universities, will be conducted in order to identify their subject matter, theoretical approach and methods used. This will allow to specify the strengths and weaknesses of the fields. Report from the project will be presented at a conference “International relations and European studies in Poland – current state and prospects for development”, which is scheduled to take place on 18 March 2015 at the University of Warsaw.
